A community was grieving the death of five people, including four high school cheerleaders, who died in a fiery automobile crash hours after they had been at a football game. A sport utility vehicle carrying the cheerleaders collided with an oncoming car on a wet, foggy highway. A passenger in the other car was killed and three more were personally injured including a woman who lost her unborn child. Investigators believe that the automobile crash was caused in part by the slick and foggy conditions and a preliminary report indicated none of the girls were wearing a seatbelt. They believe the SUV hydroplaned on a curve on the two-lane highway, flipped on its side and crossed the center lane, slamming into the oncoming car. The SUV then erupted into flames. The car’s driver and child were personally injured and taken to the hospital. At this time, no lawsuits have been filed. To read the full story, click here.
