Icy Roads Kills Woman In Illinois Car Accident

The Quad City Times reported this week on a fatal car accident that struck in Carroll County.

The two-vehicle crash occurred shortly after 8 a.m. on Thursday morning. A 44-year old driver was traveling south in his Ford pick-up truck on Illinois Route 84. Another 44-year old traveler was headed in the opposite direction at the same time in a Toyota Camry. Shortly before the two vehicles crossed paths on the road, the northbound Camry driver lost control of her car.

The vehicle spun erratically before sliding into the southbound lane directly in the path of the pick-up truck. The two collided, causing extreme damage to both vehicles. The female driver sustaining catastrophic injuries and was pronounced dead on the scene.
Police are still investigating the accident to determine what might be at the root cause of this Illinois car accident. However, snow was falling in the area at the time of the collision. There were many reports of slick, dangerous road conditions, and it is therefore likely that weather played a role in the incident.
