The Chicago Tribune reported on a Chicago car accident the occurred earlier this morning. At around 1:30 a.m. a pickup truck collided with an SUV in the Little Village neighborhood. The 21 year old driver of the pickup truck carrying two passengers struck the oncoming SUV carrying one other passenger, ultimately causing both cars to rollover — according to NBCChicago.com. Emergency medical crew immediately arrived at the scene to assist the five injured passengers.
Of all the five injured individuals, the drivers of both vehicles sustained the most severe injuries. The two female passengers of the pickup truck sustained minor injuries and the passenger of the SUV was taken to the hospital as a precautionary measure. It was later revealed that the 21 year old driver of the pickup truck was driving under the influence of alcohol. Police cited the man with DUI, as well as, the failure to follow traffic signals, reduce speed, and produce a valid driver’s license.
