Chicago Suburban Woman Killed In Car Crash

A Tinley Park motorist was killed when her car struck a concrete barrier on Interstate Highway 55 near Plainfield, Illinois. Early in the morning, a 2007 Lincoln was northbound on I-55 near Highway 30 and it was moving erratically between the three traffic lanes. Just north of U.S. 30, the car suddenly veered into a concrete median barrier. It then returned across all the northbound lanes and struck a steel guardrail. Once again the car crossed the northbound lanes again and struck the median barrier. People on the scene were able to pull the driver from the car before it burst into flames. The driver however, was dead on the scene. It did not appear that she was wearing a seatbelt in the automobile accident. An investigation into the automobile accident continues.
