Illinois Man Killed on Route to Son’s Homecoming

A Midlothian, Illinois couple en route to Colorado to greet their son as he returned from Iraq was involved in a van crash. The husband was killed in the automobile accident in Colorado. His wife was at the wheel of their van and lost control, driving off the left side of the road. As she overcorrected the vehicle, it began to roll. All the windows broke and her husband was thrown from the van. The woman has been charged with the misdemeanor count of careless driving that caused death.
