Mother and Child Remain Hospitalized Following Chicago Car Accident

Every day 700 children are injured by car accidents on American roadways. That equates to more than 250,000 kids every year that have to face the trauma that follows a car accident. (National Center for Statistics and Analysis)

This week the Chicago Tribune reported that a mother and her five year-old son remain in Chicago hospitals as a result of a car accident that occurred in Lincoln Park Monday. According to a Chicago Fire Department Spokesperson, the woman and child were transported in serious to critical condition.

Witnessing the pain and suffering experienced by families who have had a child killed or injured in an auto accident is one of the most difficult aspects of what we do here at Levin and Perconti. Unfortunately, with the hustle and bustle of Chicago traffic, child pedestrian and passenger injuries occur all too often. Injuries to children can leave families with piles of medical bills, and can make it a struggle to make ends meet financially.

Perhaps most frightening, is the fact that car accidents are the leading cause of acquired disabilities among children in the United States. This can cost families thousands of dollars for many years. In addition, the parents responsible for paying these bills are very often also the drivers of that car during the accident, which could mean more injuries and an inability to work.

Our accident lawyers know that if you are a parent whose child has been seriously injured or killed by the recklessness and negligent actions of another driver on the road, no amount of money could ever make up for the physical and emotional trauma. Our aim at Levin & Perconti is to help our clients get the compensation that they need to continue their lives, and to hold those responsible accountable for their actions.

We have years of experience representing families in motor vehicle accidents and have achieved a number of notable settlements, like our $10 million settlement for a five year-old boy injured by a Chicago fire truck.

We understand that parents who are faced with the enormous burden of dealing with these types of accidents have so much to worry about; our goal at Levin & Perconti is to make sure you have to worry about one less thing, and give you the guidance and knowledge you need when fighting for your child. If your child has been injured in an auto accident, or you think that our experience could help you in your potential case, please give us a call for a free consultation.
