A pedestrian was killed this evening while crossing I-57 close to the Sibley Boulevard interchange near Harvey, Illinois. An Illinois state police trooper said that a vehicle traveling northbound in the left lane of 1-57 struck the pedestrian who was trying to cross the interstate east-to-west about 500 feet south of 147th Street. All inbound lanes of I-57 were closed for more than two hours during the investigation of the automobile accident.
