An Oak Forest car accident on January 1st resulted in the death of a young Illinois woman. The car accident occurred when the driver of the car was driving under the influence and heading west on 147th Street, struck a light pole and ended up rolling over with the car ending up in a ditch. The young victim was the passenger in the vehicle and was killed instantly, and the driver only suffered minor personal injuries and was treated and released from Advocate Christ Medical Center shortly after the car accident. According to The Chicago Tribune, the driver and the victim were in a relationship and the father of the driver claims that the victim was distracting the driver at the time of the car accident, however the driver is currently being held in custody for aggravated driving under the influence (the driver’s BAC was three times over the legal limit) and reckless homicide.
